A few months ago a friend put me in touch with Dieter Schrade, an artisan from Germany. Dieter creates Quartz Crystal Pyramids. When I mentioned this to a friend, his response was “what is that?” He was very intrigued when I explained it to him, I hope you’ll have the same reaction.

What is a Quartz Crystal Pyramid

A Quartz Crystal Pyramid has healing qualities and characteristics similar to Crystal Singing Bowls and Gongs but with a different harmonic and feel. It has that high vibration, light crystalline feel you get from a crystal singing bowl.

The larger pyramids have a robust vibration you would get from a gong. The smaller pyramids sound similar to an unweighted tuning fork, a tingsha or 5″ singing bowl. Each pyramid is hand made with pure quartz crystal.

The dimensions of each pyramid are scaled to the same dimensions as the Cheops Pyramids in Egypt. They are have an eye on top and come with a leather tie so that you can easily hold or hang the pyramid.

Who Can Use The Crystal Pyramid

One of the best things about the Crystal Pyramid is that all you need to do is tap. There is no special training, methodology or technique for using them. Just tap, listen and feel. With the larger pyramids you can actually create two different tones, one by tapping the base and a different tone by tapping the sides. The tones can last up to a minute or more. The folks who will really like the pyramids are sound therapist and energy healers who work with groups and individuals and, those working with spiritual awareness or who feel a connection to pyramids. They are also very good for clearing rooms and large areas, for clearing chakras, and for anyone who works with mantras or chanting. I think musicians will have a lot of fun with these as well.

The pyramids come in many different sizes, the most popular being the 14″, 8″, 5″ and 3″.

Choosing the Size

You would choose the size of the bowl the same way you’d select a singing bowl or gong. If you like the deeper tones, select a larger pyramid. If you like higher pitch tones, chose the smaller pyramid.
